For May, I have to do my "Empties Post" a little different due to "ant attack" inside this old house! To start off, I have enjoyed this Shea Moisture Body Butter for my dry skin type which is great for transitioning from winter to spring weather! Highly recommend it! :)

I have enjoyed this hand cream which I got for my Birthday which has  coconut and shea butter! :)

I love rose infused beauty products...I love the affordable Sephora Mask which I got 3 applications and hydrates my dry facial skin while the rose spray is refreshing but very pricey which I have received in my monthly Birchbox!

I have enjoyed using these eye makeup remover pads which didn't irritated my eyes and very affordable!

The above Bobbi Brown goodies from the facial goodies from face mask, which is hydrating, the cleansing oil which cleans without irritating my facial skin and eyes and like the concealer serum but I need a deeper shade then the "sand" shade!

I got this via Plato's Closet was nice scent but I am glad that I didn't paid full price for such a little bit of powder!

I will continue to use my Nature Made Vitamins for my health and while I have enjoyed the Matrix Hair Oil I want to try out the RAW Natural Oil!

#LifeWithNathan First Family #Comicon at Local Library

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

On Mother's Day Weekend, my son and I attended our first ever Comic Con at our local library! I help dressed Nathan as "Super Thor" w/ his Thor hammer from the very first movie, red cape, and a little red war paint on part of his face plus wearing his Superman jacket! There were many families and kids dressed up as popular super hero or story book characters at this event with balloons, contests, and activities! Sometimes Nathan participated with activities, like leading the costume parade through the library, to sitting down reading a favorite book!

Super Thor (aka Nathan dressed down) with Wonder Woman and Spiderman!!

We had our ups and downs moment while at this event but people treated us very kindly and felt very included in this family-friendly comic con!

May #Birchbox Review Featuring #LowEffortHighImpact #OUAI #Clarins and More

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

So, I have checked out the preview and decided  to get not only my sample choice May Birchbox but also purchased the "Low Effort, High Impact" curated box as well for my review! Sorry its heading towards the end of May for this review but I have experienced several "highs and lows" in health speak that needed to be taken care of FIRST, but now I can now focused on this Birchbox review for you, my readers! So let's get started below!

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I have selected my sample choice which is the Vita Liberata Self Tanning lotion (note: loved before from last summer via Birchbox) and left everything else as a "surprise"! Not only did I get not one but two sample choices but I got several goodies as well!

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Inside my sample selected May Birchbox includes:

Davines MINU Shampoo (Full-size, $30) and Davines MINU Conditioner (Full-size, $30)

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) In-Shower Styler (Full-size, $24)

The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara (Full-size, $22)

TOCCA Giulietta Eau de Parfum (Full-size, $72)

Vita Liberata Fabulous Self-Tanning Gradual Lotion (Full-size, $30)

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

First of all, I love trying out Living Proof products via Birchbox on my relaxed, dry hair type but I have first hand experience over the years of trying to "air dry" my wavy, frizzy hair with any hair brand has proved to be disastrous for me!! After shampooing and conditioning with the Davines samples, I have applied the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) In-Shower Styler (Full-size, $24) through my hair from root to ends particular the back of my head where I am experiencing new growth and in need of relaxer touch up (last relaxer back in March but stretching til July)! It is light weight and easily coated my hair strands without heavy residue and made de-tangling with my shower comb very easy! After blow drying on "warm" setting, my hair felt soft, shiny, and light scent! However, will I get Living Proof products that best fit my hair needs and I don't do "air-dry" hair styles, period!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I have wonderful experience with this self tanning brand before but I selected  Vita Liberata Fabulous Self-Tanning Gradual Lotion (Full-size, $30) any way to give my medium/tan skin tone a nice look!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

This is the first non-lip product that I have received from The Beauty Crop via Birchbox and already loving the wand applicator and color...I will post a future makeup post later using  The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara (Full-size, $22)! And I love that it came in a pretty pink tube!

For the past week, I have been feeling under the weather health wise and needed a good shower to feel refresh! I have good results from Davines hair products and although I relaxed not color my hair, I know I can use Davines MINU Shampoo (Full-size, $30) and Davines MINU Conditioner (Full-size, $30) on my chemically treated hair for gentle cleansing and conditioning with a light citrus scent and felt I was in a garden in Italy! Loved how my hair felt afterwards!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I love TOCCA perfumes and products so this TOCCA Giulietta Eau de Parfum (Full-size, $72) is one of the first samples that I have tried and love from my Birchbox with its floral, light scent!

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I personally purchased the curated box because of the several samples that I want to try especially I have never tried a few brands or brand versions before!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Inside my curated "Low Effort, High Impact"  May Birchbox includes:

Ouai Wave Spray (Full-size, $26)

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Glo Illuminator (Full-size, $23)

MAC Cosmetics False Lashes Mascara (Full-size, $23)

COOLA SPF 50 Sport in "Mango" (Full-size, $32)

Clarins UV PLUS Anti-Pollution Sunscreen SPF 50 (Full-size, $43)

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

This is my very FIRST MAC product which is why I got this curated box and will post makeup post using this  MAC Cosmetics False Lashes Mascara (Full-size, $23) soon!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Once the sun starts to peep out, I want to try out this  Manna Kadar Cosmetics Glo Illuminator (Full-size, $23) on my face, shoulders, and arms!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Although this is not my fave brand via Birchbox, I will use this  COOLA SPF 50 Sport in "Mango" (Full-size, $32) from my head to toe for SPF protection!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

This hair care brand is new to me via Birchbox and will give you an update once I have tried  Ouai Wave Spray (Full-size, $26) on my relaxed, dry hair type!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I like Clarins and this little sample of Clarins UV PLUS Anti-Pollution Sunscreen SPF 50 (Full-size, $43) will be gone after using to protect my face, sun or no sun!

So far I have been enjoying or look forward to try the products in both my Birchboxes, both the sample choice and the curated box!

Until next time....

May #Bookreview #NorseMythology by #NeilGaiman

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Since grade school, I enjoyed reading stories about mythologies including Norse myths about Odin, Thor, and Loki but depending on the author, written or oral, each tale has a slight twist to it! I decided to read "Norse Mythology" by Neil Gaiman at my local college library for a fun read especially with all this rainy weather! At first, I did not recognize this author until I read further about his other noteworthy reads including "Coraline" and "Stardust" which are both made to the big screens and now on Netflix!

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I enjoyed reading Gaiman's version of the retelling of founding of the World Tree, Asgard, Odin All-Father, the heroic but not to bright Thor, and the cunning, Loki, who have a complicated relationship with the rest of the gods and goddesses of Asgard and the Nine Realms! These stories reflected human trials and conflicts, relationships and emotions between the gods and their enemies and how it effected the humans of Midgard (Earth). Some stories are funny while others are very gory, other stories showed how humans explained how the Earth and everything in it was created before the coming of Christianity in Nordic countries!

Some of the stories I am familiar with as child while a few are new to me, mostly the adult version of it!

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I personally read the introduction which helped me understand how the author based the information on this ancient mythology and how he re-tells it in this book!

If you are interested in more books by this author, just check out the listing in the above photo! I think I want to read the book "Stardust" since I watched this movie so many times as one of my fave romantic/adventures!

#WellnessWednesday Summary for May

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)
(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)
 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)
This May, I can definitely say that I have boosted the amount of vegetables intake thanks to local nutrition cooking class that I sign up! Not only it teaches about healthy and smart food choices but how to cook it in affordable manner! I have increased the amount of fresh and cook veggies for my lunch and dinner! I have tried roasted radishes which is different instead of always slicing them up for my salad like my family has traditional done!

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Calculating how much calories, fats, and other nutrional info on one of many health resources in our nutrition class!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Sometimes in the summer, I don't really feel like eating first thing in the morning but I do enjoy drinking a smoothie for a healthy breakfast choice!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Boosting the amount of colorful veggies like these bell peppers in my cooking, such as in chicken and rice!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

For my mental and spiritual health, I have slowed down and enjoyed all the beautiful late Spring blossoms and flowers in my neighborhood!

 (Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Keeping up with my management of  one of my chronic illnesses including taking Humira shots for my Crohn's Disease! Later this month, people globally celebrated World Irritable Bowel Day for people who suffer in silence of this painful and embarrassing  disease including myself!

I had a lovely Mother's Day with my family and enjoyed all the small treasures like flowers, dark chocolate, and feeling blessed by my faith, family, and friends that have wished and encouraged me in my motherhood, especially being a single mom and Autism mom!
