Blueridge Beauty Book Review: Uprooted

(Source: Google Images)

I love good fictional fairy tale books and the latest, "Uprooted" by Naomi Novik, is definitely a modern twist to this Grim Fairy Tale - ish  novel.  I love the heronine Agnieszka, who is selected by a wizard lord, The Dragon, who protects her village and kingdom from The Wood.  She grows as a character to unlock her hidden talent and further understands the dangers lurking in the woods. Her inner circle also changes from being a country peasant concerned for her immediate family and closest friend Kasia but begins to understand her role in a much larger social/political world.  Agnieszka is not your typically damsel in distress because she uses her heart, mind, and talents to help change the fate of the Woods, the Dragon Lord, and the surrounding kingdoms!! So sorry readers that this is my shortest review but I highly recommend reading this fictional novel for a summer read!!

Until next time,

Ursula aka Blueridge Beauty
