Blueridge Beauty Blogger: Can We Just Enjoy Fall, Please?

(Source: Google Images)

Normally, I have been trying to be a "mostly positive and moderate" blogger about beauty and lifestyle but I need to get this off my chest!  I am getting tried of the Christmas talk already and this got started the moment "Back to School" sales end and BOOM here is Christmas ?!

Really, people?!

I know that here in the United States and globally the economy has been slowly recovering but nothing, NOTHING takes the joy and anticipation Christmas than modern-day marketing!!

Even my precious 11 year old has been bitten moderately with the "Christmas in the Fall" bug!! Most of the viewers know that I am an Autism Mom so my kid grew up with the simple joys of Christmas such as Grandma, Christmas dinner, Christmas Tree, the Nativity Story and other Holiday classics, and presents!

Now my kid, who is gaining more words in his non-verbal vocabulary, points to all things Christmas!!

Just today at Home Depot, while we and several families were doing Fire Truck craft, saw boxes of trees nearby and said , "Christmas"!  Naturally as a parent, I tried correcting my child that its time for "Fall" and listed all the wonderful Fall activities and signs to experience!

I am just going to relax and enjoy the Fall and yes, I understand that marketing graduates have to make a living too, but serious let's enjoy Fall until after Thanksgiving Dinner!!

How do you feel about this "Pre-Christmas" marketing before the end of October?

Until next time...

XOXO

  1. I feel your pain Ursula!!! I am a holiday nut! I love all holidays!!! Especially those that give me an excuse to get festive and party. So it is annoying when they skip over a party holiday. Like Halloween. I know that is not a holiday everyone enjoys, but come on!!!! it comes before Christmas. I want to make some witch's brew, pop some home made popcorn, pass out candy to the kiddies, and watch some old school horror films. Can I do that? I want to enjoy the beauty of things turning from bright green to the bright and gorgeous burnt orange. I love blogging next to the window with a cup of hot chocolate. My greatest inspirations come in the fall and the spring. Just enjoy what everyone else is trying to rush away. Don't allow anyone to take those small moments of joy away. Grab a cup of tea or hot chocolate, kick up your heels, and enjoy fall!!!!

    1. Exactly!! I want to share the joys of the Fall season with my kid that there is a time and place for everything!! My kid for the 1st time ever for over 3 hrs (had to encourage Lunch first, then Legos) with Legos on a cool, wet October day!! And then we had hot cocoa together!! And then he went back to his Legos (and didn't want any help from Mom...tear drop!) That is what the Fall is all about!

  2. I know exactly what you mean! I've gone into stores in July, and sitting right next to each other on shelves are Halloween candy and Christmas decorations. Why can't we just enjoy the weather and the season we're having now??? I don't want to panic over Christmas shopping yet. I need time!
