Honesty Beauty:Re-building Eye Makeup after Eye Infection

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

This is one of my most Honesty Beauty post...recovering after 2 months (September/October) of eye allergies to eye infection and re-building my eye makeup collection from scratch!! Maybe this is NOT a fave subject in the beauty or women's health world, but it should be without shame and with support!!

I have been living with health medical condition called Crohn's Disease in which I been to Duke University and now University of Virginia Medical Center for treatments ever since my tweens!! Not only this medical condition affects my intestines but I had 3 surgeries to remove parts of my colon to an ostomy that was not responsive to medicine, it affects my immune system so I am more open catching an infection (aka eye infection)!! With changing of the seasons, I knew that I need to take my usual allergy medicine but that didn't work I went to my primary doctor in which they prescribed 2 allergy medicine due which was affecting my eyes! I also went without makeup for next 2 weeks just to reduce any irritation and contamination with my eye makeup!! Didn't clear up so after some tests, they gave me eye drops to put in one eye which was a "Hot mess" with oozes, crusty build up on my lashes, and a few tiny bumps on my eye lids!! And the female doctor told me to THROW OUT all my opened or used eye makeup!! This made me sad but doctor's orders!! Then the follow week, doctor suggest both eyes which went for another 2 weeks (AAAGRAHAH!!!) . That didn't clear up so they gave me a strong eye ointment/antibiotics and for another 2 weeks which as FINALLY cleared up! My doctor said if my eyes are all clear then I can resume with makeup this up coming FRIDAY!!!

I am so glad that my eyes are healing up and I look forward to this Friday but I have literally no makeup for a complete eye makeup!! I even have a pink eye
shadow to do a subtle Jem Pink star on my eye lids so for Halloween to go Trick or Treat with my son!! I am glad that at least I have 3 unopened mascara to use!! But it kinda hurts for this Beauty Blogger on a Budget which got most of my makeup from clearance racks, sale with coupon, free samples saved for special occasions, and consignment shops!!

I have a request for those who can help me out please either email at ursualmball@gmail.com or post below if you can send your sample or a gift card to replace my eye makeup!! I can receive at least $1 USD nationwide on PayPal which safe and secure, which I used my email account "ursulamball@gmail.com" !! I only need $10 and I can use my discounts coupons at the grocery store!

I am deeply appreciate whatever gift I can get for daily eye shadow, pink shadow for Jem and the Hologram Pink Star look, and of course eye makeup remover! Total cost $10 USD!

Let us be honest about beauty and health, its no fun going through an eye infection for 2 months BUT do follow your doctor's orders to throw out any used or opened eye makeup because these germs (esp super germs) can still be there!! And yes, I weep throwing out my makeup that saved up but you can never put a price on your health!

Until next time...

XOXO

  1. I'm sorry you had to go thru this, it sounds very painful. Luckily you made it thru with a full recovery! I don't know your preferences, but I love elf for my budget and they are almost everywhere (including grocery stores).

  2. Sorry to hear your health condition and eye infection. I've had a few bad eye infections when I was younger where my eyes were practically swollen shut so I totally feel for you. It is a shame that you had to throw away your eye makeup but it is better to be safe than risk another infection.

    1. Yup, I am planning to start at the beginning with re-build my eye makeup by getting at least 2 eye shades (one copper brown and pink/mauve for Jem's Pink Star for Halloween) from either Cover Girl or Milani which 2.99 each at Kroger (grocery) and PLUS I got coupons to bring down the amount!! :) At least I have 3 brand new mascaras!

    1. Thank you, Kay! My Chron has been managed via Humira as part of my remission plan after 3 major surgeries and various medications over time!! I am blessed with my Good Days and still praise Him even on my bad days!
