#Bookreview for January 2016: #StarWars Aftermath

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

Another great Winter/Christmas Break read that I have finished in January is a book written by Chuck Wendig which is a prelude to the recent movie, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", called "Star Wars: Aftermath"! This novel follows several major and minor characters from the Star War universe after the destruction of the Second Death Star and the Battle of Endor! Across countless star systems, both people of the Empire and the New Republic are both in fear and rejoicing of the recent events! I enjoyed reading the adventures of Norra, a veteran pilot for the Rebel Alliance, who is returning home to be united with her son and husband on the remote planet Akiva. But her plans are altered when she receives a message from pilot Wedge Antilles, about the threat of Empire meeting in Akiva to to regroup their Imperial forces and strike back at the fledgling New Republic! Still recovering from images from the battle front, Norra gains unlikely allies to report this critical information back to Rebel Alliance before its to late!

I enjoyed following Norra character as Rebel pilot/veteran that desires a return to peaceful life with her family but a sense of duty and moral compass to do what is right and necessary to secure the precious, hard won freedom not for herself and family but for future generations to experience a new democracy free from the evil Empire.  She shows bravery, smarts, negotiations, and fighting style as member of the Alliance but she was very determined to accomplish her mission! Also, this book describes the different perspectives of people across the galaxy are receiving news about Empire and the New Republic for better or worse!

I highly recommend reading this Star Wars story of Norra and other characters in their continuing struggle for glactic peace!

Until next time...

    1. Thank you, Mrs K! What I love about this novel it explained that people...whether you for Imperials, New Republic, or neither...begin to question their way of live for better or worse! I love the two perspectives of two women...one Admiral for the Empire and Freedom Fighter.. discussed and reasoned their roles and beliefs!!

    1. Thank you, Jasmine! Whether you are a Star Wars fan or not, the way the author described peoples emotions, beliefs, and roles during this galactic conflict is very believable than the Hollywood ending in the movies!
