#NewYearNewYou with Healthy Food Choices at The Fresh Market

(Source: Blueridge Beauty Blogger)

I love going to our local Fresh Market in this city which I used a coupon for "$10 off $50 or more"! Since this is the New Year for kickstarting a healthier food choices after the indulgences of the holidays (minus up coming Super Bowl 50 and upcoming events)! I already knew what I wanted at that store which is frozen veggies mostly ....most of the veggies come from organic or natural sources without the harmful stuff added like mainstream veggies in the supermarkets which you can get like "dollar a bag"! I wanted the TFM diced sweet potatoes ( three bags)since its the better for you potato which has loads of Vit. A, C, fiber! Of course there were some sale items or their version of "clearance" which you see more in upscale supermarkets like The Fresh Market or Whole Foods, for example! I also got Brittany mix of green beans, wax beans, and carrots! Plus, I got a bag of peas and green been mixtures which I hope Nathan and my Mom (Nathan's Grandma) will enjoy! And of course for the weekend, TATTER TOTS by Cascadian Farms!

Of course, I got those fabulous navel oranges that Nathan loves eating for a health morning or afternoon snack!

After the New Year, my family use a lot of Olive Oil for cooking for healthier cooking oil for sautes, baking, and more! Why pay more for name brand when TFM Extra Virgin Olive Oil is just as good at a lower price!

I  got TFM 2 % Milk for Nathan and myself which was a lot less than their organic milk brands!! Making sure we get our calcium and Vitamin D in this family!!

While making smart choices in healthier food purchases, I resisted the temptation of their bakery and candy sections of their store which is very tempting! I knew that I had estimated $53 worth of groceries but once the friendly cashier took the $10 off coupon and processed the final total to $43 !!! I can live with that price in a few bag of healthy groceries versus paying $$$$ in medical bills!! Stay tuned for more healthy food updates at my blog!

What are your favorite healthy choices that you enjoy getting at The Fresh Market?

Until next time...

  5. Have you tried avocado oil? Same consistency as olive oil (and more health benefits) but has a higher smoke point, so is less likely to oxidise (?) on your cookware.
Congrats on your steps towards healthy!

  6. Really good choices. One of my new years resolutions is to make more home made meals. I used to cook all the time, last year I was simply way too busy so I started eating out so much. It's been going good so far, I'm falling back in love with cooking homemade, wholesome foods!

    1. Thank you, Brigette! I do love their candy and bakery section but I need to focus my goals like losing up to 5 lbs and toning certain parts! Plus, I got these tasty Arbonne chocolate chews (I can't live without chocolate!) to help my sugar or chocolate cravings!
