#LifeWithNathan Kids Workshop at Our Local #HomeDepot

My son and I have been going to Home Depot for many years to the Kids Work Shop every first Saturday of the month! My son, Nathan, lives with Autism and is non-verbal but shared love of building things, construction trucks, and Bob the Builder growing up! Now Nathan is 11 yrs old and goes to a special Autism class at the local middle school, but my son and I keep up with this mother/son outing to the Kids Workshop and here are a few examples of his wooden creations!

We made this mini outdoor game for ESPN College Foot with Home Depot last Fall! Nathan loves throwing the footballs into the holes! Nathan took care how he wanted to paint his game board!  Touch Down! :)

Nathan and I made this Blue Angel air plane at a special Kids Workshop honoring our local heroes past and present!! There were a lot of parents, grandparents, and family who served in several military branches that day making a special airplane!  Nathan took care in painting his airplane with blue/light blue paint and adding the stickers! Nathan can't wait to see the Blue Angels coming again to Lynchburg, VA!!

Nathan loves flying his Blue Angels air plane!! He knows that they are "heroes" and help keep him safe!

The best part of Kids Workshop is that they are very inclusive of all families and disabilities!! Doesn't matter if you are old or young, single or married, or no matter how different you maybe you are feel included in the activities by the staff, parents/grandparents, and the kids! Despite some difficulties over the years and barriers, my son and I have grown to love and anticipate these future Kids Workshop at our local Home Depot!

Until next time...
