I know this review is late but I had medical issues to put in order first and now finally getting to writing this review!! LOC Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil in "Purple Reign" ($12)

Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in "Perk" ($24)

I have decided to test out Unwash Bio-Cleaning Conditioner ($36) and Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse ($10) after stretching out my latest Relaxer Touch-up hair appointment!! I enjoyed the fact of skipping the shampoo and using cleansing conditioner on my dry hair/scalp which did an amazing job plus this generous sample had 3 or 4 usage depending on your hair length! And then I enjoyed the lemon goodness of the rinse in my hair to help restore balance, shine, and anti-frizz in which I had to use the entire bottle due to my shoulder blade long hair!! I highly recommend both of these products for their effectiveness with my dry/wavy/relaxed/sensitive hair type!

I love using Oribe via Birchbox so I am excited to try this Oribe Cote d'Azur Replenishing Body Wash & Restorative Body Creme ($42-$65) but plan to use it with my Oribe samples in October for my Lynchburg College homecoming weekend in which I want to dress to impress on a budget!! Go Hornets!!

I finally going to experience Bioderma Sensible H20 ( $16.90)for myself after reading so many great review on this micelle, no-rinse makeup remover but I plan to use this along with my Oribe during my college reunion for an extra special treat after socializing with my fellow alumni!!

So far I have enjoyed trying and using Milk Makeup products including their lipstick and facial oil but I was slightly disappointed in my sample of Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in "Perk" ($24) mostly to the ultra light shade of pink called "Perk" had a barely there on my lips and cheeks due to my skin tone!! But the saving grace is that I can continue to use a lip balm more than conditioning than for coloring my lips!!

In all honestly, I can't stop Prince's "Purple Reign" to not to play in my head when I tried this LOC Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil in "Purple Reign" ($12) on my lips which gave a slight grape tint on my lips!! I might experiment using another lipstain for a two tone lip effect which is perfect for Halloween!!

So far, I give this my September Birchbox rating of "6 and 1/2" out of Seven Samples although I won't be trying the Oribe or Bioderma next month but love getting these samples and I made the Milk Makeup work for me as conditioning lip balm instead of tinted lip/cheek color!!  I have already selected my October Birchbox choice in which its going to be another curated Birchbox with samples that I can't wait to try out!!

Until next time....

  1. Great review. I just love how honest you are with your experience with their products. It's surely helpful. Can't wait to know about your October Birchbox. Have a nice day Ursula! xx

  2. So interesting to see what you got, Ursula. I also got the Milk Lip & Cheek stick in Perk, and the shade is perfect for my Light skin. I think they should have taken skin tone into account when they offered the product. I tried Unwash products but not the one that you used. I know I couldn't skip the shampoo, and I also can't get into the reverse shampoo/conditioner thing either - call me Old School! I recently tried some Oribe shampoo & conditioner that came in my Birchbox and I was in love with them. Wish I had more! Have a good time at your reunion!

  3. My first box arrived with a damaged product, and I received a whole new box to replace it. The one that arrived today is the same one you received, but I have not reviewed the products yet. Loved reading your thoughts.
